Prologue and thoughts before reading

I haven't read The Hobbit before, but I have high expectations for it. I have seen all the Lord of the Rings movies and read the first book. In my opinion, the movies were very good. I also liked The Fellowship of the Ring, but I read it a long time ago and don't remember much. I know that The Hobbit is like a children's story, but I expect it to capture my attention like the movies and book did.
